Sun City  And  Sun City West

The Sun Cities is a good days drive from Hollywood, California,
just down the road from Las Vegas and within driving distance
from some of the most beautiful scenery in the world:
Monument Valley, Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert,
just to mention a few.

Let us take you on a tour of what we call "Paradise":

The Sun Cities have wide streets, golf courses,
recreation centers, theaters, shopping, 4 Country Clubs,
craft centers, clubs of every kind you can imagine.

Del Webb's vision was to build a community
where two kinds of people could live;
  • Retirees
  • "Snow Birds"

One member of the household must be
55 years old and no one under the age of 19 may live here.

Like Del Webb used to say:

"If you are bored here, it is YOUR FAULT"!

Del had the vision to offer all that live here
the opportunity keep active, by that,
he built clubs such as

  • dance
  • ceramics
  • photography
  • metal crafting
  • welding
  • precious metals
  • jewelry
  • woodworking
  • copper crafting
  • the lively arts
  • state clubs from almost every state in the Union
  • Plus alot more that I have not named
He saw a community that was affordable
to all walks of life, comfortable to live in and
near recreation of every type.
He offered bowling of several types, archery,
shuffleboard, regular and miniature golf,
gardening, running tracks, shopping,
and all types of interesting facilities.
We have our "Posse", a division of the
Maricopa County Sheriffs office, these dedicated
people protect us all hours of the day or night!

Arizona is known to have some of the largest man-made lakes in the world, as a matter of fact,
there are more boats in Arizona than anywhere else in the USA. Lake Mead, just North of us,
was formed when Hoover Dam was built.

Arizona offers desert fauna such as Coyotes, Bobcats, cottontails,
Gambrel Quail, dove, hawks, eagles and
falcons.

The desert flora here is like none other in the world.  Stately Saguaro cactus, Native to Arizona,
plus various other types of cacti:  prickly pear, Cholla, Organ Pipe cactus to name a few.
There are Pineapple Palm, Queen Palm, Fan palm, century plant plus various other types of plants
that are endemic to the Sonoran Desert.   When the desert is in bloom such a beautiful sight you will see
no where else in the world.
